Job summary

Piedmont Medical Network - Fort Mill Hospital in Fort Mill, SC seeks a qualified Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and to apply radiation protection while delivering care to patients of all ages. Night and weekend call is required, and PACS proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree.
  • Registry eligible; registry completed within nine (9) months of employment.
  • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
  • SCRQSA certification required.
  • Up to 1 year experience is required, 1 to 2 years preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history; explains procedure to ease anxiety.
  • Utilizes proper Radiation Safety with patient, self, and others.
  • Demonstrates working knowledge with imaging equipment including PACS, dose calibrator, Syntrac system.
  • Measures dosage for each patient and records accurately; observes precautions against overexposure.
  • Administers isotope dosage following procedures; maintains accurate dosage records.
  • Performs related duties as required.

Job Summary

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for patients of all ages utilizing radiopharmaceuticals. Applies principals of radiation protection. Exercises professional judgment in performance of service. Provides patient care to patients of all ages. Night and weekend call is required. Proficiency in PACS.

Responsibilities
  • Obtains patient data before procedure - DOB, age, and history. Typically explains procedure to be performed, facilitates patient’s cooperation and alleviates anxiety
  • Utilizes proper Radiation Safety with patient, self, and others
  • Always demonstrates working knowledge and proficiency with imaging equipment, including but not limited to: computers (acquisition and processing), dose calibrator, PACS, and Syntrac system
  • Always measures dosage for each patient following correct procedures; observes established precautions against overexposure
  • Administers isotope dosage accurately following established departmental procedure; accurate records dosage administered
  • Performs related duties as required.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Education: Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program with an Associate degree or equivalent required.
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licenses:
    • Must be registry eligible.
    • Registry completed with nine (9) months of employment.
    • American Heart Association BLS CPR certification required.
    • SCRQSA certification required.

Preferred

  • Experience: Up to 1 year experience is required, 1 to 2 years preferred
  • Certifications/Registrations/Licenses: ARRT and/or NMTCB registry preferred
