Job summary

The Patient Care Technician/Health Unit Coordinator at Baylor Scott & White Health in College Station provides patient care under supervising nurses, assisting with ADLs, vital signs, and care plans. This full-time night role requires three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends and a minimum one-week training, across Medical Surgical, ICU, IMCU, and Telemetry units.

• EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
• EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

Responsibilities

• Collects and records patient data, including vital signs.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, and transferring.
• Responds to call lights and conducts regular patient rounds.
• Provides personal hygiene care and assists with patient clean-up.
• Adheres to Baylor Scott & White policies and procedures.
• Performs glucose monitoring and collects specimens as requested.
• Will be required to directly support multiple patients during each shift.
• Tracks and reports quality data for the unit.
• Completes and maintains files and forms for admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Assigns phones and location devices to appropriate staff members.
• Maintains inventory, requisitions, and stocks supplies and equipment in the work area.
• Greets visitors and provides assistance.
• Answers telephones and communicates with the nursing team and medical staff using pagers, and cell phones, based on department needs.
