Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Part-time Patient Care Tech for GI Surgical Oncology 12E Nights. The role supports RN staff in direct and indirect patient care in a high-acuity unit, including vitals, routine procedures, and post-operative tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a CNA certification, CPR, and a high school diploma, with preferred associate/bachelor credentials. The position offers 24 hours/week with hourly compensation up to $24.26.

Qualifications

• CNA certification or enrollment in a nursing program.
• CPR certification by the American Heart Association.
• Minimum 90% on annual Health and Safety trainings.
• Unit-based recognition for Capillary Blood Glucose Monitoring.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Record vitals, monitor patients, and document changes for RN.
• Support pre- and post-operative care and safety procedures.
• Transport patients and supplies; respond to patient calls promptly.
• Maintain clean, safe environment and follow policy standards.
