Job summary

AdventHealth in Tavares, Florida is seeking a part-time night-shift patient care technician to support admissions and everyday patient care. You will prepare rooms, welcome patients, and assist with transports, while maintaining safety and accurate documentation in the EMR.

The role requires a High School diploma, CPR/BLS, and a CPCT/A or equivalent certification (or CNA). 1+ year CNA experience is preferred, with a strong emphasis on compassion, confidentiality, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year CNA or lead EKG preferred (ED).
• CPR/BLS certification required or equivalent.
• Ability to learn EMR and basic computer tasks.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for new admissions, including setting up items and vital sign equipment.
• Welcomes admissions and orients patients to rooms.
• Transfers patients between beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs with assistance.
• Documents vital signs, intake/output, and weights in policy.
• Collects and labels specimens and sends to lab.
• Responds to patient call lights and addresses needs.
• Maintains patient records and unit census.
• Maintains a clean, safe patient environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
