Job summary

AdventHealth in Florida seeks a Patient Care Technician to support admissions, patient care, and daily living activities. You will prep rooms, welcome new admissions, and assist with transfers while ensuring safety and accurate documentation.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this role. Minimum high school diploma; BLS and patient care certifications are required, with preference for CNA or equivalent credentials.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/CPCT/A or equivalent certification required.
• Able to learn and use electronic medical records and basic computer applications.
• Must communicate clearly in English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Prepares rooms for new admissions and orients patients.
• Transfers patients with assistance as needed.
• Documents intake, vital signs, and weights per policy.
• Collects and labels specimens and sends to lab.
• Responds to patient calls and addresses needs.
• Maintains clean, safe patient environment and unit census.
