Job summary

Texas Health Huguley in Burleson, TX is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician. You will assist in delivering patient care under a licensed nurse, record vital signs, and document procedures in the EMR. The role supports safety, quality standards, and performance improvements.

The position requires a high school diploma, BLS/CPR, and preferred PCT experience. Night shifts 7:00pm–7:00am with competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of patient care technician (PCT) experience preferred.
• BLS/CPR certification required; CNA/CPCT/A/CPCT-C EMT certifications optional.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of patient care under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately take vital signs and document in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Document and report all procedures accurately and per department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Function within scope during clinical emergencies and support quality initiatives.

Job Description

Shift: 7:00pm - 7:00am (3 shifts per week)

• Assists in the delivery of patient care by performing tasks under the direction of a licensed nurse.
• Accurately performs vital signs and documents in the electronic medical record
• Documents and reports all procedures accurately and in accordance with department policy.
• Perform duties and patient care according to policy and procedure.
• Functions appropriately within scope in clinical emergencies
• Participate in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows CDC isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of PPE, performs hand hygiene according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.

Education

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

• 1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Licenses And Certifications

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Preferred]
• NHA Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Preferred] OR NCCT Patient Care Technician (NCPCT) [Preferred] OR AMCA Patient Care Technician Certification (PCT-C) [Preferred]
• Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Preferred]
