Job summary

Texas Health Huguley in Burleson, Texas is hiring a patient care technician for day shifts from 7:00am to 7:00pm. The role supports nurses, participates in performance improvement, and helps maintain a safe, clean environment for patients and families.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, BLS, and CNA/CPCT-A/EMT certification or eligibility. Prior acute care bedside experience is preferred. Benefits start day one, with 403(b) and parental leave options.

Qualifications

• High School Grad or Equiv required.
• 1+ applicable PCT experience preferred.
• Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) required OR CPCT/A required OR EMT Cert required.

Responsibilities

• Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.
