Job summary

AdventHealth in Burleson, Texas is seeking a Nursing Support/Patient Care Technician to join our night shift team (7:00pm–7:00am, full-time). You will assist in delivering patient care under the direction of a registered nurse, maintain a safe, clean environment, and participate in performance improvement activities.

Required: high school diploma or equivalent; BLS CPR; CNA/CPCT/A/EMT certification; 1+ year PCT experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ year PCT experience preferred.
• BLS CPR, CNA, CPCT/A, or EMT certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Perform treatments per policy, provide patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Respond to clinical emergencies.
• Support quality initiatives and performance improvement.
• Follow isolation guidelines and PPE usage.
• Pursue skill development and learning.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Maintain a clean, safe patient environment.
• Assist in delivering patient care under RN supervision.

Job Description

• 7:00pm - 7:00am (3 shifts per week) Performs treatments according to policy and procedure, providing patient care appropriate to age, mobility, acuity, and culture.
• Functions appropriately in clinical emergencies.
• Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and supports quality standards and initiatives.
• Follows prescribed isolation guidelines, demonstrates appropriate use of protective equipment, performs handwashing according to policy, and enforces safety regulations.
• Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrades skills continuously.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for patients and staff.
• Assists in the delivery of patient care as a team member under the direction of a registered nurse.

Education

High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Work Experience

1+ applicable PCT experience [Preferred]

Previous bedside patient care in an acute care unit, unit secretary, monitor technician, or equivalent medical experience [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications

Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) [Required]

OR Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A) [Required]

OR Emergency Medical Tech Cert (EMT) [Required]
