Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas, NV seeks a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support Registered Nurses with hands-on patient care, vital signs, mobility and personal care, while helping monitor conditions and follow care plans in a safe, compassionate environment.

Qualifications include Nevada CNA certification, current BCLS, high school diploma or equivalent, and completion of required trainings within 3 months; 1 year of direct patient care preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• C.N.A. certification valid in Nevada.
• Current BCLS certification.
• Complete a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment.
• CPR/De-escalation training within 90 days of hire.
• Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by manager.
• Minimum of one year direct patient care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient preparation, mobility, transfers and comfort to support smooth care and recovery.
• Provide non-medicated care such as dressing changes and skin protection.
• Keep patient areas clean, organized and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency.
• Manage supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness.
• Communicate kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality.

Job Summary And Qualifications

As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be a vital part of our collaborative nursing team, supporting Registered Nurses in providing hands‑on care and helping create a safe, welcoming environment for patients. You'll assist with daily needs such as vital signs, mobility, and personal care, while helping RNs monitor conditions and carry out care plans. Your attention, empathy, and teamwork help restore comfort and dignity for every patient you serve and make our mission to improve lives a reality each day.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with patient preparation, mobility, transfers, and comfort to support smooth care and recovery
• Providing non‑medicated care such as dressing changes, skin protection, and use of supportive devices
• Keeping patient areas and common spaces clean, organized, and stocked to maintain safety and efficiency
• Managing supplies, equipment, and logs to support infection control and team readiness
• Communicating kindly with patients, families, and the care team to support safety and quality

What qualifications you will need:

This position is in the MCU department

• Graduate from high school or equivalent
• Current C.N.A certification in the state of Nevada
• Current BCLS
• Completes a competency skills checklist within 3 months of employment
• Management of Aggressive Behavior/De‑escalation Techniques course (5 Neuro Only - CPI/hospital approved course within 90 days of hire)
• Attend Trauma Informed Care course as directed by manager/director
• Minimum of one-year direct patient care preferred
