Job summary

Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center in Las Vegas is seeking a Nurse Manager of Med/Surg Telemetry to lead the Med/Surg/Telemetry units and drive quality patient care. You will oversee staffing, budgeting and professional development in a high-acuity environment.

The role requires BSN, MSN preferred, Nevada RN license, and at least 1 year of management experience, with strong clinical knowledge and leadership skills to mentor teams across units.

Qualifications

• Graduate of accredited nursing program and BSN required.
• Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred (or in progress).
• BLS, ACLS certification in Critical Care Nursing or Nursing Administration preferred.
• Current acute clinical knowledge required.
• Minimum of 1 year management experience required.
• Recent acute clinical experience (3+ years) preferred in area of responsibility.
• Current Nevada nursing license required.

Responsibilities

• Participate in annual budget development, implementation and maintenance.
• Develop staffing standards for clinical areas and coach staff on patterns.
• Select, train and evaluate subordinates per HR policies.
• Serve as a positive role model for staff and problem solving.
• Represent department on interdepartmental committees and professional groups.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• You will participate in annual budget development, implementation and maintenance ensuring operations are managed in unit(s) within established guidelines and delivering quality patient care
• You will assist in development of staffing standards for clinical area(s) of responsibility, ensure daily staffing standards meet productivity target, and coach charge nurses and other unit personnel on effective staffing patterns
• You will select, train and evaluate subordinates and initiate personnel actions in accordance with the Human Resources policies and organizational philosophy and provide opportunities for professional growth. Knowledgeable in principles of personnel management
• You will serve as a positive role model for staff management, problem solving and professional standards of nursing
• You will represent the department through involvement on interdepartmental and interdisciplinary committees or work groups to effect change and problem solve within the organization, and represent Patient Care Services and the medical center on state, community and professional committees

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing BSN required
• Masters Degree in Nursing or related health field required (or actively in progress)
• BLS, ACLS Certification in Critical Care Nursing (CCRN) or Nursing Administration (CNA) preferred
• Current acute clinical knowledge required
• Minimum of 1 year management experience required
• Recent acute clinical experience (3+ years); preferably in area of clinical area assigned
• Current Nevada license to practice nursing required
