Job summary

Northside Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Technician to provide nursing assistance and patient care for comfort, safety and personal needs.

The role supports activities of daily living and hygiene, operating within a unit-based, self-directed team alongside licensed and non-licensed staff.

Qualifications

• Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry.
• Or CMA (AAMA) certification.
• Or RMA (AMT) certification.
• Or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (NHA) certification.
• One year of patient care experience (CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech, or other relevant acute direct patient care experience).

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing assistance and patient care to support the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene.
• Work within a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

The Patient Care Technician provides nursing assistance and patient care to provide for the comfort, safety and personal needs of patients. Assists patients with activities of daily living and performs procedures for physical hygiene and comfort of patients. Performs duties with the construct of a unit-based, self-directed patient care team while sharing various tasks with other licensed and non-licensed members.

REQUIRED

1. Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
2. Certified Nursing Assistant on the Georgia Registry

OR

Certified Medical Assistant awarded by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)

OR

Registered Medical Assistant awarded by the American Medical Technologists (AMT)

OR

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant awarded by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)

1. One (1) year of patient care experience, as a CNA, PCT, Military Medic, ED Tech or other relevant acute, direct patient care experience.

PREFERRED

1. Visual color acuity depending on the role in specific units.
