Job summary

Bassett Healthcare Network seeks an Emergency Service Technician to support urgent and emergency patient care. The role involves assisting with treatments, monitoring vital signs, and coordinating with nurses and physicians to ensure smooth patient flow.

Required BLS within 6 months; preferred 1 year of patient care experience. Expect exposure to fast-paced ED/urgent care environments with comprehensive safety protocols.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 6 months from date of hire, required.
• One year of patient care experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient treatments assigned by the RN and other health care team members.
• Receives direction from physicians and nurses and provides technical support to optimize patient care.
• Assist with resuscitation / CPR and emergency airway procedures.
• Obtain and document vital signs and monitor oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure.
• Set up and maintain equipment, supplies and specimens for lab analysis and point-of-care testing.
• Support patient flow and admit/discharge processes in the ED/urgent care setting.
