Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a patient care assistant to support doctors and nursing staff in meeting patients' basic needs. Responsibilities include assisting with ADLs, taking vital signs, aiding mobility, and providing post-mortem care where needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work as part of a team with physicians and nurses.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, feeding, dressing.
• Obtain and record vital signs, weights, and heights.
• Assist patients with mobility: ambulation, transfers, discharges and ROM.
• Perform post mortem care.
• Perform EKGs, phlebotomy and blood glucose monitoring.
• Observe and report changes in patients' condition to the RN.
• Maintain phlebotomy equipment and inventory.
• Other related duties as assigned.
