Job summary

Atlantic Health System in New Jersey is looking for a Unit Associate/Nursing Assistant to support patient care in a hospital setting. You will assist with ADLs, monitor vital signs, perform glucose checks, and help with admissions and discharges under RN supervision.

You will answer call bells, ensure patient safety, stock rooms, and help with documentation and communication with nursing staff. A high school diploma or GED is required; BLS or CNA preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS preferred; CNA preferred.
• Experience as Unit Associate or Nursing Assistant in hospital or medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists patients with ADLs such as hygiene, mobility, toileting, and emotional support.
• Supports nursing personnel in providing direct patient care.
• Measures and records daily weights and vital signs/I&Os; reports abnormal findings.
• Performs EKGs and blood glucose monitoring; reports changes to RN.
• Answers call lights promptly and politely; ensures patient safety and comfort.
• Cleans, stocks and prepares rooms; ensures proper patient IDs and isolation precautions.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfer paperwork; supports HIM/document scanning.
