Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Nursing Support Assistant (CNA) to assist nurses in delivering direct and indirect patient care under supervision. You will help with activities of daily living, monitor vital signs, and support safe, compassionate patient experiences.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; at least 6 months of direct patient care experience preferred. Must hold Maryland CNA I or CNA II registration and CPR certification, with strong English communication and basic computer

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 6 months experience in direct patient care preferred.
• Current Maryland CNA I or CNA II registration and CPR certification.
• Ability to read and write English to document patient care.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to perform simple calculations.

Responsibilities

• Provide care, comfort, and safety under direct supervision.
• Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, hygiene).
• Record vital signs, weights, glucose, and intake/output.
• Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharge under nurse guidance.
• Use EMR for appropriate record keeping.
• Prepare and maintain clean, stocked patient rooms.
• Assist with feeding and helping with meals when needed.
