Job summary

Baptist Health Arkansas is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist patients with basic care, monitoring and hygiene, spending most time with patients to support comfort and recovery. You will collaborate with the health care team, communicate clearly, and adapt to flexible hours to meet patient needs.

Education includes CPR and healthcare skills training; transcripts verified, healthcare or service-experience preferred but not required. On-site role with comprehensive hospital support.

Qualifications

  • 12 college level credit hours including English Composition with a grade of C or higher (transcripts verified).
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Service industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Education provided: CPR, Skills training, Crucial Conversations, Hospitality in Healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients and families with basic care, monitoring and hygiene.
  • Be in close contact with the patient to support care delivery and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the health care team.
  • Support care team to ensure care is complete and coordinated.

Job description

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

Other information:

  • 12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Compositionwith a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.(transcripts will be verified upon application)
  • Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Service industry experience preferred but not required.
  • Will provide education that includes: CPR, Skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare
  • Knowledge Skills and Abilities Needed:
