Qualifications

• 12 college level credit hours that include a passing grade in English Composition with a C or higher and an overall GPA of 2.0 or greater.
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Service industry experience preferred but not required.
• Education includes CPR, Skills training, Crucial Conversations, and Hospitality in Healthcare.
• Knowledge Skills and Abilities: willingness to work flexible hours, good organization, good verbal and written communication, ability to learn and apply new healthcare skills, ability to communicate effectively, collaborate with health care team, engage patients at appropriate level, problem solve, be proactive in anticipating needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, and hygiene, ensuring care is complete.
• Spend the majority of time in the presence of the patient to support and interact with them.
• Communicate clearly with patient, family, and health care teammates.
• Support the care team to maintain smooth and coordinated patient care.

Job description

The primary function of the PCT is to assist the patient and family with basic patient care, monitoring, hygiene, and to help ensure care is complete. The PCT works as an essential part of the patient care team. As the member who spends most of their time in the presence of the patient, compassion, caring, and excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills both to and from the patient and family, and to and from the rest of the healthcare team.

• Healthcare experience preferred but not required.
• Service industry experience preferred but not required.
