Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital is seeking a Certified Nurse Assistant to provide direct patient care in the High Risk Cardiology unit. The role supports licensed nurses and maintains patient safety while documenting care and collecting vital information.

Hours are 36 per week, nights 7p-3:30a, with every 3rd weekend. This position emphasizes teamwork with nurses, technicians, and house staff in a Magnet Hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• No prior experience required.
• Certified Nurse Assistant credential required.

Responsibilities

• Implements direct patient care under the supervision of the nurse, promoting patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Collects clinical data and information on patients, and reports changes in patient status to the nurse.
• Assists nurse with patient and family education. Documents all patient care activities provided with correct medical terminology. Acts as 1:1 patient safety sitter as necessary.
• Ensures availability of supplies and equipment to meet each patient's needs.
• Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development.
