Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Brenham, TX is seeking a Patient Care Tech / Health Unit Coordinator for PRN Day shifts. The role supports nursing staff by performing patient data collection, vitals, and routine care activities; coordinating unit operations and records.; you may assist with daily living activities and transport patients.

Ideal candidates will have a HS diploma or GED and less than 1 year of experience in healthcare support.

Qualifications

EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent
EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

Responsibilities

Collects and records patient data, vital signs, and observations for nursing staff
Assists patients with activities of daily living and linen changes; responds to call lights promptly
Maintains unit records, admissions, discharges, and physician call lists; updates boards and telemetry equipment
Prepares reports, memos, and letters using computer programs
Greet visitors, answer phones, and coordinate with nursing staff and other departments
Runs errands, transports patients, and helps with inventory of supplies and equipment
May perform non-medical duties such as assisting with meals, blankets, and comfort items
Attends unit meetings and in-services as required
