Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Care Technician to assist in individualized patient care under the guidance of registered nurses or licensed practical nurses. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and efficient completion of clinical and support tasks to promote patient wellness.

Ideal candidates may have EMT/Paramedic or prior patient care experience, with required BLS within a month and CPCT competencies within three months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, G.E.D., CNA/CPCT or enrolled in a healthcare career program, or age 18+ and able to participate in Mercy's UAP training program.
• BLS certification within one month of hire; CPCT competencies within 3 months of hire.
• No previous experience required; Mercy provides training as part of orientation.
• Must be able to meet physical requirements: push/pull/lift 50 lb, prolonged standing/walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, twisting, squatting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in individualized patient care under RN/LPN direction to achieve highest wellness level.
• Work cooperatively with team and support care delivery through designated clinical procedures and non-clinical tasks.
