Job summary

Texas Health Denton is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Intermediate Care Unit in Denton, TX. Full-time, day shift 7a–7p, 36 hours per week, with weekend and holiday requirements.

You will assist patients, collect data, document care, support admission/transfer/discharge, and collaborate with nurses to ensure safe, compassionate care. Benefits include 401k, PTO, medical/dental, tuition reimbursement, and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CLIAFE foreign education equivalency as required.
• Current TX CNA or PCT training with NHA/NAHP/NCCT or THR approved program.
• Current EMT certification for TX.
• Military medical training equivalent (EMT-B) or nursing student with fundamentals.
• Previous hospital experience preferred.
• BCLS certification prior to independent patient care.
• CPI training within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse
• Assists in admission/transfer/discharge
• Documents patient activities of daily living and care
• Performs technical procedures safely and proficiently
• Takes action to reduce patient risk
• Enters orders into computer or manual system
• Maintains accurate documentation
• Adapts care to reflect patient population in collaboration with the nurse
• Considers cultural and religious needs in delivery of care
• Keeps patient environment clean and safe
• Anticipates patient/family needs and rounds accordingly
