Baptist Health in Paducah, KY is recruiting a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Room on the full-time, second shift (11a-11p). The role includes assisting with patient care, vital signs, phlebotomy support, and monitoring equipment under RN supervision.

Responsibilities include documentation in the EMR, patient transport coordination, and basic lab collection responsibilities as needed. Preference for prior healthcare experience and phlebotomy exposure.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assistance and monitor patient needs in the ER.
• Document patient care in EMR according to scope of practice.
• Support unit operations, perform routine patient hygiene and vital signs.

Patient Care Tech - ER

Full Time, Second Shift 11a-11p

Provides general nursing care assistance to patients, with consideration for the unique needs of pediatric and geriatric populations as appropriate. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment. Patient Care Technicians perform duties under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, and in addition performs general stocking duties as needed to support unit operations.

Job Duties:

• Patient hygiene, routine vital signs, routine care.
• Documentation of patient care in EMR based on scope of practice.
• Phlebotomy and various other lab collections.
• Placement of appropriate monitoring equipment.
• Performs 12 Lead ECG.
• Coordinates transport of patients as needed.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Must obtain Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire

Preferred Requirements:

• Successful completion of an Approved Aide Training Program is preferred
• Previous phlebotomy/point of care testing is preferred
• One year of previous experience in a healthcare setting providing patient care preferred
