Job summary

Conway Regional Health System is seeking a Patient Care Tech to support the care team by assisting patients with personal needs and comfort, including hygiene, nutrition, elimination, skin care and the use of equipment. You will perform delegated tasks within the scope of unlicensed assistive personnel.

This safety sensitive role requires teamwork and reliability; training includes American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Providers, Point of Care Testing Orientation, and Crisis

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or higher education.
• Basic keyboarding skills, preferred.
• Clinical experience or CNA preferred.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, training included.
• Point of Care Testing Equipment Orientation
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention/SAFE in 90 days

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, skin care and comfort.
• Support care team with routine tasks and equipment handling as assigned.
• Provide compassionate, patient-centered assistance to ensure continuity of care.
• Document basic observations and respond to patient needs under supervision.

Overview

The Patient Care Tech will assume responsibility and accountability for providing support services to ensure continuity of care and help to meet the department goals as directed by the health care team. The Patient Care Tech will perform patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients. They will assist patients with personal hygiene, nutrition, elimination, skin care, use of equipment and other clinical and administrative tasks which are delegated and assigned. The Patient Care Tech will perform delegated support functions and patient care duties that are within the scope of practice for unlicensed assistive personnel. The Patient Care Tech will demonstrate a commitment to teamwork through effective collaboration efforts.

SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION

This position is a designated as “Safety Sensitive Position” under Act 593 of the State of

Arkansas. An employee who is under the influence of Marijuana constitutes a threat to

Patients/customers which Conway Regional is responsible for in providing and

supporting the delivery health care related services.

Qualifications

• Prior to independence from preceptor successful completion of:
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers, training included
• Point of Care Testing Equipment Orientation
