Job summary

The Lowell General Hospital is seeking a patient care role in the ICU G Department. The position involves providing ADL support, preparing rooms, maintaining safety, and assisting with meals under nursing supervision.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, BLS, and some healthcare experience. Training is provided, with weekend rotations and holiday coverage as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required.
• 1 year of healthcare experience preferred.
• Certified patient care, clinical assistant, CNA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of a nurse, performs ADLs and patient care.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment for the patient.
• Prioritizes patient care according to nursing direction and discharge plan.
• Transports patients to procedures/discharge as directed.
• Cleans and operates equipment safely and correctly.
• Assists with meals or feeds patient as necessary.
• Collects patient data and reports accurately and timely.
• Greet visitors professionally and direct to destinations.
• Answer calls and route to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain department security and access control.
• Complete admission, transfer and discharge documentation in a timely manner.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

BLS certification

Healthcare experience (1 year, preferred)

Certified Nursing Assistant or equivalent (preferred)
