Mercy Cedar Rapids seeks a Patient Care Technician to support safe, patient‑centered care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will communicate with patients and families, document care in real time, and participate in hand-offs to ensure continuity.

The role emphasizes teamwork, patient privacy, and readiness to respond to emergencies within your scope. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred, with CNA/Health Support training encouraged.

Formación

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• CNA or Health Support Profession program preferred.
• Previous Patient Care Tech or CNA experience preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Ensure accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, families, and co-workers at hand offs and other times as needed.
• Take all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information for the best possible patient outcome.
• Provide safe and effective patient care under the supervision of the licensed nurse by performing tasks and support functions as delegated by department.
• Observe and communicate changes in patient condition to the licensed nurse.
• Demonstrate effective communication and understand patient needs including language/cultural barriers.
• Maintain accurate and real-time documentation of patient care provided.
