Job summary

HSHS Medical Group in Illinois is seeking a Medical Assistant to support nursing staff under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. The role includes direct and indirect patient care, clinical support, and acting as a preceptor when needed.

The successful candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, completion of an approved Medical Assistant or related program, or an EMT license. BLS certification is required, with benefits for eligible staff.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant, CNA, or Patient Care Technician program or an active EMT license required.
• 1 year of experience in patient or clinical care may substitute education.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse, provides direct and non-direct patient care within scope of practice.
• Acts as a versatile member of the care team, providing clinical support and a comforting presence to help achieve patients' wellness.
• Assigned preceptor duties as needed.
