Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited CNA program and listed on the Illinois CNA Registry OR Nursing student who has completed one clinical rotation.
• BLS through American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of clinical/patient care related functions under RN or physician guidance.
• Collects, labels and transports specimens as assigned.
• Obtains 12 lead EKGs.
• Discontinues Saline Locks and Indwelling Urinary Catheters.
• Performs Bladder Scan and Point of Care Testing as appropriate.
• Assists patients with personal hygiene and nutrition as identified in the care plan.
• Performs hourly patient rounding in collaboration with the RN.
• Documents patient care data as directed by the RN and care plan.
• Assists with ambulation and positioning.
• Maintains patient safety and responds to call lights promptly.
• Supports learning and attendance at required trainings.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
