UofL Health is seeking a dedicated Unit Clerk to support nursing units. You will handle medical records, transcribe orders, route messages, and assist with admissions, discharges, and data collection. A patient-centered, professional demeanor is essential to support physicians, patients, families, and staff.

Requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of a recognized clinical program, and BLS. CNA/CMA/EMT credentials are preferred; LPNs may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a recognized Clinical Assistant, Medical Assistant or EMT program, or nursing students who completed Fundamentals of Nursing preferred.
• Basic Life Support (AHA) required.
• Current state CNA/CMA/EMT certification preferred; LPNs may apply.

Responsabilités

• Transcribes and computes orders and messages, maintains legible records.
• Assembles and organizes patient records and charts.
• Sets up admission/discharge charts and verifies completeness.
• Communicates orders to the nurse and relays information promptly.
• Collects intake/output data, vitals, and basic measurements.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA and safety policies.
