Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Full-time Medical Assistant for day shift in our Indianola, IA clinic. You will deliver patient care, document vital signs, and support procedures and immunizations under physician guidance.

Prepare charts, schedule tests, and ensure smooth clinical operations while maintaining confidentiality. Qualifications include completion of an accredited MA program, eligibility for CMA/RMA/NCMA/NRCMA within one year, and BLS within 3 months.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must obtain CMA/RMA/NCMA/CMA CCMA or NRCMA within 1 year of hire.
• BLS certification due within 3 months of hire.
• Abuse reporting training within 3 months of hire.
• Proficient with basic computer skills (Windows, email, MS Office).
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English with patients and staff.
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver patient care through preparation, vital signs, and documentation.
• Administer medications and immunizations under provider direction.
• Prepare and organize patient charts and communicate test results and plan of care.
• Schedule procedures, labs, X-rays, and surgeries; assist outreach for overdue visits.
• Coordinate physician schedules and insurance pre-certifications.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to policies and standards.
• Educate patients and families; promote evidence-based resources.
• Assist in training and cross-coverage as needed, document care plans.
