Job summary

Methodist Medical Group in Dallas, TX seeks a Medical Assistant Patient Representative to support patient care and promote the vision of Methodist Health System. Responsibilities include patient history, vitals, nursing tasks, injections, and coordination with physicians in a busy ambulatory setting.

Requirements include accredited MA program graduation, national certification or within 90 days of hire, BLS, and 2+ years of experience; proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program for medical assistants.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification or certification within 90 days of hire date
• Valid Basic Life Support Certification
• 2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting preferred.
• Strong proficiency using Microsoft Office products
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to interface and maintain effective relationships in a team environment

• Take patient history and vitals
• Perform general nursing duties within licensure and state guidelines
• Conform to OSHA regulations and infection control procedures
• Assist in Rx refills via Fax, E-Rx or phone calls and update patient medication module
• Unpack and maintain medical supplies and vaccines; keep supply closet organized
• Monthly check for expired medication and proper disposal
• Prepare FMLA forms and other documents for physician review and signature
