Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited program for Medical Assistants.
• 2+ years of professional medical assisting in a practice setting is preferred.
• National/Registered Medical Assistant Certification
• Valid CPR certification.
• Requires full range of body motion including lifting patients and dexterity.
• Extensive standing and walking in a physician’s office and stressful hours.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict patient confidentiality and discretion with information.
• Implement patient care under guidance of physicians and office staff.
• Screen calls during triage; refer medical decisions to a physician.
• Administer injections with documentation as required.
• Assist physicians and MAs in nursing care per clinic policies.
• Takes patient history and vitals.
• Rotate duties such as checking for expired meds and disposing appropriately.
• Manage supplies and vaccines; keep supply closet organized.
• Assist with Rx refills via Fax, E-Rx, or phone calls.
• Demonstrate infection control knowledge and QA for autoclave.
