ForMotion in Houston, TX, is seeking a Patient Care Specialist to join a clinic network focused on orthotic and prosthetic patient care. You will greet patients, register them, and help maintain accurate chart records while supporting clinical staff.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and 1–2 years of medical office experience, with EMR familiarity preferred. Attention to detail, strong communication, and compliance with safety and privacy policies are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and register patients, compile chart documentation, and support clinical staff.
  • Answer telephone calls, triage inquiries, and direct to appropriate personnel.
  • Schedule appointments and verify patient demographics, referral sources, and insurance in EMR.
  • Obtain insurance cards and other documents, and scan into EMR.
  • Maintain complete patient records per policy and ensure info is included for delivery and claims.
  • Assist with infection control and environment cleanliness; prepare treatment rooms.
  • Provide administrative support and pursue paperless workflows where possible.

Primary responsibilities include greeting and registering patients, compiling complete chart documentation, and supporting clinical and technical staff .What You’ll DoAnswers the telephone and either responds to inquiry, directs caller to appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage email for response by clinical personnel.Schedules appointments, verifies and updates patient demographics, referral source and insurance information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). Obtains copies of insurance cards, drivers' licenses and other documentation from referral sources and scans relevant items into the EMR.Maintains complete patient records in the EMR per company policies.Initiates documentation requests from physicians and other healthcare providers and ensures information is included as part of the patient's medical record prior to product delivery and claim submission.Verifies patient insurance benefits, relays information on relevant payment and billing/collection policies and collects patient responsibility payments.Maintains a clean, orderly and safe environment for patients and visitors. Follows infection control/safety procedures by adhering to applicable guidelines. Takes patient height, weight and reviews relevant medical history with patient. Prepares treatment rooms and patient care areas.Provides administrative support to the practice as needed.
