Bayhealth Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, night-shift role on the Kent Campus. The RN provides direct patient care in an acute setting, developing care plans and administering medications while maintaining patient confidentiality.

A Diploma/Associate Degree in Nursing is required; BLS/ACLS (PALS preferred) certifications are expected, with BSN preferred for advancement. The role emphasizes high-quality, safe patient care with collaboration across care teams,

Qualifications

• Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing or higher.
• Credentials: RN, BLS, ACLS; PALS may be required per manager's direction.
• Acute care RN experience strongly preferred.
• BSN preferred; specialty certification may be required in time.

Responsabilités

Location: Kent Campus Hospital

Status: Full Time 72 Hours

Shift: Nights / Variable

SALARY RANGE: 37.98 - 58.87 Base Hourly Rate

• Sign-on BONUS for Skilled Critical Care RNs, available for limited time, on Nights in Medical and Neuro ICU -- 20k for FT and 10k for PT.

General Summary

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within a assigned unit with a commitment to quality and safety. Professional nursing practices, requiring specialized knowledge judgment and skill are performed using the process in accordance with hospital policy, procedures and nursing philosophy.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in the acute care setting.
• Develops a patient centered plan of care based on individualized needs.
• Maintains confidentiality of the patient medical record.
• Counsel and educate patients and their care partner on treatment plans.
• Administer medication following the five rights of medication administration.
• Provide wound care and dressing changes, as applicable.
• Read and interpret patient information, making treatment decisions, when appropriate.
• Consult with physicians to decide on best treatment decisions when appropriate
• Performs nursing interventions to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
• Observe and record patient behavior and response to nursing interventions.
• Demonstrates quality, safe and effective patient care.
• Provides delegation to unlicensed assistive staff and Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) staff
• Demonstrates standards of excellence which includes practicing nursing with core values of compassion, accountability, respect, teamwork and integrity.
• Demonstrates understanding and executes quality and performance improvement plans. (only for RN evaluation)
• Participates in decision making and takes actions based on ethical principles. (only for RN evaluation)
• Provides timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
• All other duties as assigned within the scope and range of job responsibilities.

Required Education, Credential(s) and Experience

• Education: Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing
• Credential(s): Registered Nurse RN Basic Life Support Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support ACLS
• ACLS / PALS may be required per manager's direction and timeframe *Commit to seeking specialty certification within time frame as indicated during interview
• Experience: Acute care RN experience strongly preferred

• Education: Bachelor Degree Nursing BSN
• Credential(s): Certification related to the position, if applicable.
• Experience: 2 or more years Neuro ICU / Critical Care experience
