Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care in a fast-paced clinic setting. You will perform rooming, vital signs, medical history reviews, and health screenings while assisting providers with procedures and patient flow.

You will also obtain specimens, process lab orders, administer vaccines, and manage patient messaging and scheduling. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or military clinical training per DD214 in lieu of MA program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification may be required per department.

Responsibilities

• Rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, screenings.
• Assist provider with procedures and perform duties as ordered.
• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and lab order prep.
• Administer medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintain clean, stocked work areas and ensure safety/compliance.
