Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Nurse Assistant (PCNA) for the Med/Surg & Post-Op Surgery unit. The role supports RNs in providing comprehensive patient care in a Magnet-certified environment known for excellence.

The position emphasizes teamwork, patient safety, and ongoing skills development in a collaborative, caring setting. Day shifts, with weekend rotation, offer growth through education programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross or must obtain during your new hire period.
• Nursing students: BLS through AHA or Red Cross prior to hire.
• Military experience as Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered.
• Proficient in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at an eighth-grade level.

Responsibilities

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with daily living activities, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.
• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.
• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.
