The role requires a high school diploma or GED, completion of an accredited MA program, and WA MA credentials (or Interim MA Certificate with MA-C planned).

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program prior to start date/transfer or equivalent Military experience with ability to obtain MA-I prior to start date.
• Interim Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire OR Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) required at hire.
• Medical Assistant Certificate (Washington) within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support required at hire.
• If hired as MA-I, must obtain MA-C prior to expiration of the MA-I credential.
• Knowledge and skills listed on Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Medical Assistant Competencies/Skills Inventory.

Responsibilities

• Collect data about health status of the patient and record vital signs.
• Communicate attentively and coordinate care with the patient and team.
• Provide instruction to patients and families matching learning needs.
• Accurately document patient history and procedures per standards.
• Demonstrate accountability and participate in ongoing education and evaluations.
