Planned Parenthood of Michigan is seeking a Medical Assistant I in Kalamazoo to provide patient-centered medical services under supervision. You will handle front-office tasks, assist with procedures, and support clinicians in a fast-paced clinic environment.

The role requires the ability to maintain records in EHR systems, collect fees, and ensure equitable patient interactions while upholding PPMI values and service standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum degree required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• At least 2 years’ experience working in a health care environment.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training.

Responsabilités

• Maintain patient records and enter information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Assist patients with check in process and paperwork.
• Obtain patient insurance information and verify coverage.
• Assess patients’ financial resources including eligibility for programs.
• Record financial and billing transactions and collect fees.
• Dispense medication and supplies under supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic testing and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for procedures and assist clinicians.
