Job summary

Planned Parenthood of Michigan seeks a Medical Assistant I to support patient-centered medical services. Under supervision, you will assist with front desk tasks, collect insurance data, and help with billing in the EHR system.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• At least 2 years’ experience in a health care environment, preferably reproductive health.
• Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient records and enter information into electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Assist patients with check-in and paperwork; verify insurance information and eligibility.
• Assist clinician/physician and dispense medications/supplies under supervision.
• Perform basic diagnostic testing and obtain vital signs.
• Provide patient education on pregnancy options, BCM, STIs, and general health care services.
