Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a student intern to support administrative and certain clinical tasks under licensed supervision. Duties include scheduling, medical record upkeep, patient billing, and basic patient care while preparing exam rooms and assisting staff.

Responsibilities cover clerical work, data collection, specimen handling and routine lab tasks. Requires high school diploma and Basic Life Support within one month of hire, with ACLS a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained or to be obtained within one month of hire.
• ACLS certification preferred per listing.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and administrative support, including answering phones and scheduling.
• Prepares treatment rooms, cleans equipment, and disposes of contaminated supplies.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information or schedule activities.
• Interacts with patients, explaining procedures and instructions.
• Collects blood or specimens and logs for testing; may measure vital signs.
• Performs routine laboratory tests and prepares patients for exam.
• Shows patients to rooms and assists physician as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
