Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college or medical assistant training preferred.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required or will be pursued.

Responsibilities

• Provides clerical and administrative support (phones, scheduling, typing, filing, back-up for others).
• Prepares treatment rooms, sterilizes equipment, and disposes of contaminated supplies.
• Interviews patients to obtain medical information or schedule activities; maintains medical records.
• Interacts with patients, explaining procedures, medications, diets, or instructions.
• Collects blood, tissues or specimens; logs and prepares for testing; may measure vitals.
• May perform routine laboratory tests and analyses.
• Guides patients to examination rooms and prepares them for the physician.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
