Qualifications

• One year of full-time clerical (in a health care setting), secretarial (in a health care setting), or patient care experience.
• Eligible List Appointment: Eligible on Civil Service list for Nursing Station Clerk 1.
• Provisional Appointment: Temporary provisional appointment may be considered.
• 55b/c Appointment: Eligible for 55b/c designation.
• Section 70.1 Transfer: One year of permanent competitive service for transfer.

Responsibilities

• Orient patient and/or family to unit and provide general information regarding the room, unit, and hospital.
• Give information on patient condition within policies and direct visitors accordingly.
• Process physicians' orders by recording written orders in charts or computer files after RN review.
• Receive new admissions.
• Prepare and maintain patient charts, daily log, and clinic log.
