Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with faculty to develop and evaluate educational cases, rubrics, and clinical encounters for various health professions.
  • Monitor and grade student performance on patient encounters and interprofessional education submissions.
  • Train Standardized Patients to ensure consistency and quality in educational activities.
  • Organize and conduct community outreach programs and faculty development sessions focused on simulation.
  • Manage the daily operations of the Simulation Lab, Clinical Exam Center, and Clinical Skills Lab.
  • Set up, break down, and assist with simulation exercises, OSCEs, and SPEs.
  • Operate and maintain hi-fidelity manikins and other simulation equipment.
  • Develop, evaluate, and manage simulation technologies to enhance learning experiences.
  • Create, maintain, and report on electronic surveys, forms, and logs for data collection.
  • Utilize clinical evaluation software to load and manage assessment rubrics.
  • Complete required institutional, program accreditation, and other reports.
  • Participate in university committees and work in compliance with codes and regulations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask and work independently or in a team.

Job description

The Patient Care Educator at Lincoln Memorial University-DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine ( LMUDCOM ) CIPES is a key role responsible for providing comprehensive learning support to medical and other health professions students. This position involves a blend of instructional support, operational management, and administrative duties related to simulation-based and clinical skills education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in promoting the mission of Lincoln Memorial University by fostering effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students

Required Qualifications

Associates degree in nursing, science, communication, or other related field, or a current license in a health-related profession. Strong project management skills. Willingness to acquire and maintain certification as a BLS , ACLS , and/or PALS instructor

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in Public Health, Education, or Health-related field. Experience in a healthcare or healthcare education setting. Professional medical, simulation, and/or education credentialing. Up-to-date knowledge of medical, simulation, and education methodologies including hi-fidelity simulation manikins.
