Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Athol is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator for the Urgent Care Team. This full-time role includes a rotating schedule with weekend hours and a $2.50 hourly differential.

The incumbent will handle registration, pre-registration, billing support, patient communications, and nightly closing procedures, while maintaining professionalism under stress and delivering excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service background.
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients to ensure smooth transitions.
• Prepare pre-registration packets for each procedure.
• Process co-payments and payments; update medical records.
• Back up incoming calls and direct to the appropriate department.
• Perform nightly closing procedures for the clinic.
• Call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles.
• Support billing and collections processes as needed.
