Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join the Athol Family Medicine Team. You will handle registration, pre-registration, and documentation to ensure smooth patient transitions and accurate billing.

The role requires multitasking, strong customer service, and a professional demeanor under stress. Prior clerical or medical office experience is preferred and MS Office proficiency is expected.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Registration and pre-registration functions to help patients.
• Prepare pre-registration packets for each procedure.
• Ensure copies of documentation are obtained to facilitate billing and collections.
• Process co-payments and payments; update medical records.
• Back up incoming calls and direct them to the appropriate person or department.
• Perform nightly closing procedures for clinic.
• Call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles.
