Northwest Specialty Hospital in Athol, ID is seeking a detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator to join the Family Medicine Team. The role focuses on excellent customer service, patient registrations, and clerical support to ensure smooth care transitions.

The ideal candidate will handle multitasking under pressure, maintain professional demeanor, and have prior clerical or medical office experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
• Ability to relate and work effectively with others.
• Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service background.
• Prior clerical or medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Register and pre-register patients for services to ensure smooth transitioning.
• Prepare pre-registration packets for each procedure.
• Ensure copies of documentation are obtained to facilitate billing and collections.
• Process co-payments and payments.
• Register patients and update medical records.
• Back up incoming calls and direct to appropriate person or department.
• Perform nightly closing procedures for clinic.
• Call patients for pre-registration notification including copays and deductibles.
• Other duties as assigned.
