Palo Verde Hematology/Oncology, Ltd. seeks a Patient Coordinator to relieve clinicians of administrative tasks by checking out patients and scheduling future appointments.

You will greet patients warmly and maintain a caring environment. Responsibilities include verifying demographics and insurance, updating EMR with changes, handling follow-ups, sending orders for radiology and labs, obtaining prior authorizations, and coordinating testing with external facilities while maintaining documents

Formación

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of EMR, medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes a plus.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Ability to deal with problems involving occasional, last-minute changes in generally standardized situations.

Responsabilidades

• Greet and direct patients.
• Verify patient demographics and insurances.
• Update any changes to patient’s account in EMR.
• Checks out patients after their office visit.
• Schedules follow up appointments.
• Sends out physician orders/radiology & labs.
• Obtains prior authorizations for radiology.
• Coordinates follow up visits with outside testing that needs performed.
• Keeps x-ray and other medical records, performs secretarial tasks, and completes lab requisition forms.
• Keys data into computer to maintain office and patient records.
• Communicates and works closely with physicians.
• Cross train with front desk personnel.
• All additional tasks as requested by management.
