Job summary

West Wichita Family Physicians, PA seeks a Patient Care Coordinator to manage pre-service components for in-house diagnostic procedures (MRI, CT, Nuclear Medicine) and referrals for specialist appointments. You will verify diagnoses, coordinate scheduling with patients, and handle insurance pre-certifications.

Join a patient-centered team with focus on confidentiality, quality care, and efficient operations. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, with PTO and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous clinic setting experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and others involved with patient care.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

• Verify the procedure being ordered corresponds with the diagnosis; confirm prior testing has been completed prior to pre-certification.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain information for pre-certification.
• Speak with the patient or patient representative via phone to schedule the procedure.
• Explain the procedure and preparation to the patient or representative and provide directions regarding location and time.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Contribute to a healthy team environment.
• Additional duties as assigned.

• Verify the procedure being ordered corresponds with the diagnosis; confirms that any appropriate prior testing has been completed prior to pre-certification
• Verify insurance coverage and obtains appropriate information for pre-certification
• Speak with the patient or patient representative via phone to schedule the procedure
• Explain the procedure and the preparation for the procedure to the patient or patient representative and answer questions, provide directions regarding location and time
• Maintain confidentiality
• Contribute to a healthy team environment
• Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a clinic setting
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff, and others involved with patient care
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively

Preferred Skills:

• Knowledge of insurance process and medical terminology preferred
• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
• Identifying problems and recommending solutions
• Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA), medical assistant (MA), RN or LPN program or equivalent training/experience

The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 8 am to 5 pm. We offer a generous paid time off plan, in addition to a suite of employee benefits.
