Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Medical Assistant/Patient Service Representative in Endocrinology. This per diem role supports both clinical and administrative tasks, including patient intake, vital signs, EMR documentation, scheduling, and coordination of referrals.

The candidate will work closely with providers to deliver high-quality care, register patients, and assist with pre-visit planning while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Education from an approved medical assistant/medical secretary program or equivalent preferred.
• One to three years as a medical assistant, medical secretary preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with clinical tasks and patient care beside providers.
• Register patients in EMR and verify demographics and insurance information.
• Schedule appointments and testing; perform pre-visit planning.
• Answer and triage incoming calls; manage work queues.
• Obtain prior authorizations and insurance referrals; maintain patient confidentiality.
