Beacon Orthopaedics, a brand partner of Upstream Rehabilitation, is seeking an Insurance Authorization Specialist to join our team in Cincinnati, OH. This entry-level role supports clinic operations and helps ensure timely insurance authorizations for physical therapy.

The position emphasizes accuracy, customer service, and teamwork, with full-time hours and competitive benefits. You will interact with patients, providers, and payer organizations daily.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Communication skills – must be able to relate well to Business Office and Field leadership.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently while maintaining organization, accuracy and timely follow through.
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Self-motivated and proactive.
• As a member of a team, must possess efficient time management and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect all money due at the time of service.
• Convert referrals into evaluations.
• Schedule patient visits.
• Provide excellent customer service.
• Obtain and manage insurance authorizations for physical therapy.
• Communicate with clinical staff, physician offices and insurance carriers for timely approvals.
• Track authorization status, expiration dates, and reauthorizations to prevent interruptions.
• Submit clinical documentation and medical records to payers for authorization approval.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR and scheduling systems regarding authorizations.
• Deliver excellent customer service by helping patients understand insurance requirements and processes.
• Create an inviting clinic atmosphere.
• Make welcome calls and monitor arrival rate to ensure a great patient experience.
