Qualifikationen

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Medical Assistant Certificate/Diploma from an approved school /institution or equivalent documented training.
• BLS - Basic Life Support required.
• CMA - Certified Or Registered Medical Assistant preferred.
• Knowledge of coding and billing regulations.
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area.
• Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
• Ability to solve problems and identify solutions.
• Ability to demonstrate customer service skills in interactions with all patients, families and staff, including high volume and stressful situations.
• Ability to work independently as well as an integral part of the patient care team.
• Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures.

Aufgaben

• Prepare information (lab and procedural results), equipment and supplies for exam.
• Assist physicians with procedure set‑ups, patient procedures and examinations.
• Perform patient care, including vital signs, weights, rooming, assisting with procedures, vaccinations and injections.
• Administer medications following approved procedures and only after checking with a licensed person.
• Process requests for prescription refills per established practice.
• Perform waived testing (urine dipstick, urine pregnancy test, blood glucose testing), and perform EKGs.
• Collect and send specimens to appropriate labs per protocol.
• Assist with maintaining preventive health measures for a panel of patients.
• Schedule and edit patient appointments using the scheduling system.
